Jim Bourne started in the confectionery industry in 1976, working for Hilliard’s Chocolate System. After working under Alan Hilliard for 10 years, Bourne bought the business. The chocolate melting, tempering, coating and cooling equipment manufactured by Hilliard’s is used worldwide by over 5,000 customers. In addition to being on the Kettle Committee, Bourne is active in the Retail Confectioners International (RCI) and the National Confectioners Association (NCA). Bourne is a past board member of the RCI, a current member of the NCA Supplier Advisory Committee, chair of the RCI Advisory Board and serves as an instructor for the RCI Candy School and Chocolate Boot Camp.
