The new company will be known as Capol, LLC and will be based in Northbrook, Ill. Katherine Clark, formerly director of technical services for Centerchem’s Specialty Food Ingredients division, will lead Capol’s new U.S. division as vice president of sales.
Clark, who previously worked with Centerchem for 22 years, says she will continue to lead the company in the Centerchem way.
“Capol products enjoy a long-standing market leadership position in North America,” she said in a statement. “We look forward to carrying on the outstanding tradition of quality, technical service and support for our customers.”
“The people of Capol thank Centerchem for their thirty years of dedication in building this business to what it is today,” adds Matthias Seemann, CEO of Capol GmbH. “From that solid foundation, we look for continued advancement of our client service and product development for the important North American market.”
Capol GmbH, founded in 1975, manufactures a broad range of coatings and finishes, including Capolan sealing agents and Capolex release agents.
Yesterday, Candy Industry incorrectly reported that Capol GmbHhad purchased Centerchem, Inc.In fact, the Elmshom, Germany-based coatings and finishes manufacturer acquired only the North American distribution business of Capol GmbH products. Centerchem will continue to operate out of Norwalk, Conn.
