In an effort to expand its natural essence manufacturing, Synergy Flavors has acquired Hamilton, Ohio-based Sensus, LLC.

This move also strengthens Synergy's capabilities in key markets, such as the tea and coffee sectors.

Roderick W. Sowders, Syngery Flavors president and ceo, says he believes the acquisition will allow for his company to have more access to the food service sector.

“Sensus' customers will also benefit from the additional flavor expertise and global reach of the Synergy organization," he explains.

The acquisition of Sensus follows Synergy's acquisition of Vanlab, where direct access to vanilla bean growers is the key to development of high quality extracts.

Synergy is well-known as a supplier of innovative flavors for beverage, bakery, confectionary, dairy, and nutritional products. The company is a member of the Irish-based Carbery Group, an international food ingredients and cheese company.

Synergy creates innovative flavors in a full range of natural, artificial, organic, and suitable for organic flavors for food and beverage manufacturers worldwide. In addition to the United States, Synergy has production, R&D and technical facilities in the UK, Ireland, SE Asia, and South America.

Business operations for Sensus will remain in Hamilton, Ohio.
