Grupo Nacional de Chocolates, Candy Industry’s January 2009 cover story, plans to acquire Mexican chocolate manufacturer Nutresa S.A. for $95 million, according to just-food.com. Nutresa has a manufacturing plant located in Mexico City, which produces the Nucita, Nucita Bar, Cremino Bicolor and Mui-Chokato-Bon brands. The company employs 750 people and featured generated sales of $49.3 million in 2008, according to the article on just-food.com.
