As part of an expansion drive, Polish chocolate manufacturer Wawel plans to open a coffee and chocolate store in Bucharest’s Fashion House outlet, according to Balkans.com. The company currently sells its products in around 200 stores in Bucharest and 10 other counties in Romania. Already targeting around one percent of the country’s chocolate market and eight to 10 percent of the premium sweets market (equaling sales of 2.5-3 million euros annually), Wawel expects the Romanian chocolate market to grow by 15-20 percent next year.
