Mexican entrepreneurs Roberto Arreguin and Leslie Norton, co-owners of Virc LLC, were joined by the Free Trade Alliance San Antonio and city officials for the grand opening of its new gummy manufacturing plant in Selma, Texas, a suburb of San Antonio. The plant will manufacture gummy candies ranging from traditional varieties to low sugar, sour and spicy types.
Mount Franklin Nutritionals, a manufacturer of gummy nutritional supplements, organic gummies and fruit snacks and a subsidiary of El Paso, Texas-based Mount Franklin Foods, says its new 100,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Sumter, S.C., is primed to serve the “rapidly growing,” $2.7-billion nutraceuticals industry.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC) announced last week that it had reached an incentive agreement with Haribo of America, the U.S. subsidiary of the German-based gummy manufacturer, tied to the construction of a 500,000-sq.-ft. plant in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
