Marich Confectionery CEO Brad van Dam is retiring after 26 years in the lead role and 38 years at the company.

Brad van Dam's father, Marinus, established the company in 1983. Under Brad's leadership and direction, the company experienced growth through the creation of products, services and a friendly company culture. He successfully guided Marich through the recent COVID crisis and put the company on track for record sales this year.

“I am thankful for all the dedicated people I have had the opportunity to work with and have made meaningful friendships with employees, customers, suppliers and peers and have had some of the greatest experiences a man can ask for," Brad van Dam said.

As part of the leadership transition, Marich has named Leonard Spelt as incoming CEO. Spelt has served on Marich’s board of directors since 2013 and brings many years of experience in the confectionery and food and beverage industries.

In addition, Troy van Dam will continue in his role as president and chief operating officer, carrying on the family legacy in pancrafted chocolates and premium candies.
