Brockton, Mass.-based FB Washburn Candy Co. recently introduced Pucker Suckers, a line of super-sour, dual-flavored hard candies.

Flavors include Strawberry-Watermelon, Orange-Pineapple, Lemon-Lime, Green Apple-Strawberry and Blue Raspberry-Lemonade. The individually-wrapped candies start sour and stay sour.

In March, Douglas Gilson, who has 46 years experience in the confectionery industry, took over Washburn’s helm. The company is known for producing Dad’s Root Beer Barrels and Beauty Pops.

"It's time to breathe new life into our company and put us back on the map,” he said. "Sour candy is trending, and we're nothing if not trendy.”

Washburn has also introduced a new Spice Mix, which includes hard candy in Sarsaparilla, Anise, Clove, Cinnamon, Wintergreen and Ginger flavors. Also debuting is a Tropical Island Mix featuring flavors such as Guava, Mango and Coconut, as well as Maple hard candy balls and barrels.
