jcoco has added three new chocolate bar flavors to its collection: Mango Plantain, Orange Blossom Espresso and 85% Dark.

These additions follow the launch of Boharat Middle Eastern Spice truffle bar, developed in collaboration with Chef Tarik Abdullah.

Seattle Chocolate CEO and owner Jean Thompson launched jcoco in 2012 (she’s the “j” in jcoco) to showcase how chocolate can push flavor boundaries, support food security organizations and spread joy.

Thompson and her team are dedicated to creating chocolate treats (beyond bars, jcoco’s line also includes gifts and caramels) and to educating their community about the history of chocolate and their sourcing efforts in origin countries. Since its inception, for every 3-oz. of jcoco chocolate sold, Seattle Chocolate donates one fresh serving of food to its food security partners: The Food Bank for New York City, San Francisco-Marin Food Bank and Northwest Harvest.

The three new varieties are inspired by flavor combinations Thompson and her team have discovered in their culinary exploration and travels. Mango Plantain highlights chewy bits of dried mango, crunchy organic plantain chips, sea salt and habanero extract enveloped in milk chocolate.

Orange Blossom Espresso is a 60% dark bar made with bright and aromatic orange oil which melts into notes of creamy espresso. The 85% Dark bar is crafted from 100% origin contamana cacao beans sourced from the Cusco valley of Peru (an ancestral home of cacao). The bar features jcoco's highest percentage of cacao to date, making it low in sugar and high in antioxidants, with a robust, slightly-acidic cacao flavor.

With the launch of the three new flavors, jcoco will also debut BAR5, a new gift including five of jcoco’s signature bars in both a Dark set (Orange Blossom Espresso, 85% Dark, Noble Dark, Boharat Middle Eastern Spice and Black Fig Pistachio) and a Milk + White set (Mango Plantain, Cayenne Veracruz Orange, Crisp Quinoa Sesame, Edamame Sea Salt and Bali Sea Salt Toffee). jcoco’s Coconut Pecan and Arabica Espresso will retire in tandem with the upcoming launch.

“Chocolate is limitless, and we hope for jcoco to offer a sense of discovery through this culinary treat,” Thompson says. “We’re thrilled to share these new bars with our community, as they’re meant to be shared and enjoyed together to spark conversation and connection.”

The new bars are available in 1-oz. and 3-oz. packages. Mango Plantain and Orange Blossom Espresso retail for $2.50 for 1 oz. and $7.50 for 3oz. The 85% Dark bar retails for $3 for 1 oz. and $9 for 3 oz. BAR5 retails at $14.
