UPDATE: PMCA has canceled its in-person conference. For me on that, click here.

PMCA’s upcoming 74th Annual Production Conference is proceeding as planned amid concerns over coronavirus.

The event is slated to be held at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square and Lancaster County Convention Center Lancaster, Pa. from Monday, April 20 through Wednesday, April 22, 2020. (For a full PMCA schedule, click here).

“At this time, our conference is scheduled to proceed as planned,” says Rachel Halkias, administrative & marketing assistant. “PMCA officers and board members are monitoring the situation and should there be any changes, all members and attendees will be informed in a timely manner.”

The CDC has also released guidance for mass gatherings on its website.

The agency recommends that “As the COVID-19 outbreak evolves, CDC strongly encourages event organizers and staff to prepare for the possibility of outbreaks in their communities. Creating an emergency plan for mass gatherings and large community events can help protect you and the health of your event participants and local community."

The NCA’s Sweets and Snacks Expo also recently released a statement saying it also intended to proceed as planned. However, Natural Products Expo West was postponed.
