Goodio donates $12K to Ubuntu Life Foundation
Donations support women, children in Kenya.
For each Café Ubuntu chocolate bar sold, Goodio continues to donate $0.50 to Ubuntu’s health and education programs supporting children with special needs as well as empowering and educating women in Maai Mahiu, Kenya. Café Ubuntu chocolate is made in collaboration with Ubuntu Life Foundation and Allegro Coffee.
“We are proud of this partnership with the Ubuntu Life foundation,” said Goodio USA CEO Jussi Salonen. “Social responsibility is a core value for Goodio, and this partnership is one of the ways we work towards this value on a concrete level. As a small company, we are of course also very happy with the amount we have been able to donate to the foundation.”
Goodio’s Café Ubuntu bar combines Ubuntu’s East African coffee and Ugandan Mountains of Moon cacao. Ubuntu Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to creating jobs and empowering communities in Kenya.
“Our partnership with Goodio is a dual impact product in that it provides customers with an extremely tasty bar of coffee chocolate while at the same time providing resources that empower women in Kenya,” said Zane Wilemon, executive director and co-founder of Ubuntu Life. “At Ubuntu Life we live daily into the reality that we are all connected and the choices that we make create a ripple effect in our world. The Café Ubuntu Coffee Chocolate provides customers a great choice to participate in a ripple effect that is allowing Kenyan women to thrive and Kenyan children opportunities to succeed in life.”
Café Ubuntu chocolate is a part of Goodio’s selection and is available worldwide from the U.S. to Asia. In the U.S., the product is available in select Whole Foods Market stores and other retailers.
