German gummy manufacturer Haribo Group has announced that COO Martin Schlatter has departed the company, effective Dec. 31.

In a news release translated from German, Haribo says the company's Supervisory Board granted Schlatter’s request to terminate his contract for “private reasons.” Since joining the company in March 2015, Schlatter had been responsible for sales and marketing.

“We thank Martin Schlatter for his commitment and creativity,” says Hans Guido Riegel, marketing partner for Haribo Group. “As a family business, we particularly respect this step of renouncing the continuation of his official duties for private reasons.”

With production locations in 10 countries, Haribo is ranked No. 10 on Candy Industry’s Global Top 100 list. The company’s annual sales are estimated at $3.1 billion.
