Godiva introduces Mexican single-origin bars
G by Godiva promises to bring chocolate lovers on a new, authentic chocolate experience.
Godiva is tapping into what ancient civilizations once celebrated as a "food of the gods."
The company is launching G by Godiva, a collection of six "super premium" Mexican single-origin chocolate bars. Featuring both solid and decadent combinations enrobed in milk or dark chocolate couvertures, the new collection promises to offer a new, authentic chocolate experience.
"We created this collection with the spirit of a master mixologist in mind; inventing an array of vibrant flavors to blend with the Mexican origin cocoa beans," says Jean Apostoulou, chef chocolatier, Godiva. "We wanted to ensure that every bar would take chocolate lovers on a special journey of taste and texture."
Godiva's chef chocolatiers selected the Mexican single-origin chocolate for its purity of origin, smoothness and depth of flavor.
That depth shows itself in the collection's most basic bars, meant for the chocolate purist. The 42% Milk Chocolate bar has hints of white flowers, peaches, apricots, and vanilla, while the 68% Dark Chocolate bar carries notes of licorice, plums and tobacco leaves for a more intense taste experience.
Other bars in the collection feature exciting ingredient combinations selected and blended by Godiva's chocolatiers, including Dark Chocolate Toasted Coconut, Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Crisp and Dark Chocolate Orange & Ginger. Rounding out the collection is the Blonde Chocolate & Salted Caramel bar – a mixture of white chocolate and caramelized milk chocolate with crunchy buttered salted caramel.
The collection boasts a specially-designed mould in the shape of small chocolate tiles with a concave circle on top to create an elegant bar, as well as packaging featuring bold blocks of vibrant color.
The bars are available now in stores across the United States and online for $7.
"G by Godiva is where authenticity and quality meet art and passion. This is a unique collection that offers an elevated, special and memorable chocolate experience" Apostoulou says.
