Western Canada has a new chocolate destination.

Chocolat Favoris, which has been thriving in Quebec, has launched its first shop in Victoria, B.C. The artisan chocolate shop and creamery will bring its unique concept to chocolate lovers.

The shop features a station dedicated to dipping soft-serve ice cream in one of 12 chocolate flavors, including Original Milk, Dulce de Leche, Cookies and Cream, and Salted Caramel. Customers can peruse a counter full of fine chocolate and bars, or bring home canned chocolate fondue to enjoy with family and friends.

The new shop in Victoria is an investment of more than $600,000 in the region, creating 30 to 40 new jobs within the community.

"This new shop opening is part of our major expansion plan to achieve $100 million in turnover by 2020. This is our second shop outside Québec — but that's only a start. We want Chocolats Favoris to be the chocolate destination preferred by all Canadians, with shops in all major cities within the next three years," says Dominique Brown, president and ceo.

Founded in 1979 just outside of Quebec City, Chocolats Favoris has 20 locations in Quebec, one in Ontario, and now one in Victoria. The company has plans to increase that number to 24 by fall of this year, with an eye on international expansion in 2017.
