Promotion in Motion has a new executive v.p. and chief administrative officer; it’s Joseph Vittoria, former ceo and president of another major confectionery company — Pez Candy.

Vittoria is slated to officially join the Allendale, N.J.-based company in mid-January.

PIM, one of the 100 largest confectionary and snack food manufacturers in the world, is known for its leading brands, such as Welch’s Fruit Snacks, Sun-Maid Milk Chocolate Raisins and Sour Jacks Sour Candies.

Candy Industry Magazine’s 2015 Global Top 100, published in its January 2015 issue, estimates that PIM has about $300 million in net sales annually, and is the 53rd largest confectionery company internationally. Meanwhile, on the same list, Pez is ranked 97th, with $105 million in net sales.

"Joe's successful growth and strategic market approaches to drive teamwork, along with his knowledge of retail and consumers, manufacturing and financial management, makes him the ideal addition to PIM's already successful team," says Michael G. Rosenberg, founder, president and ceo, PIM. "We welcome Joe to our organization and look forward to the impact his significant contributions are sure to make."

Prior to his PIM appointment, Vittoria served as president and ceo of Pez Candy for more than 10 years and sat on the executive board of Austria-based Pez AG. During his tenure at Pez, Vittoria transformed the company’s branding strategy and operations, “returning the PEZ brand to prominence and profitability as a leader in novelty candies,” says PIM’s media release.

Before Pez, Vittoria was a partner in the consumer and industrial products sector at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PWCC) and IBM business consulting services. He was also a senior executive in consumer products at J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk, Appliance Corp. of America and Regent Sheffield.

Vittoria serves as trustee and executive director of several boards supporting education and child development. He resides in New Canaan, Conn. with his wife and children.
