Camaraderie in Cologne

As with most receptions, guests started to trickle in slowly after working the show on the first day of the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair in Cologne, Germany on Jan. 28, 2007. The damp air signaled the onset of a cold drizzle, but the crowd began to swell soon enough. As always, the opportunity to commiserate with exhibitors at the American Pavilion, as well as fellow confectioners and suppliers from around the world, proved a strong draw, despite fatigue and the threat of rain.
Energized by some fine jazz music, more than 300 manufacturers, suppliers and buyers enjoyed the local brew (Kölsch), fine wines and a rich array of appetizers at Holtmann’s Café in the Museum Ludwig. Co-organized by Candy Industry/Confectioner magazines and the National Confectioners Association, the event was sponsored by Bell Flavors & Fragrances.
