Football fans got a taste of M&M’S newest spokescandy during the Super Bowl - and it made many of them chuckle.

Mars Chocolate North America introduced the sixth M&M’S character, Ms. Brown, during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVI, in an ad that featured her fellow spokescandy, Red.

Mars also revealed the voice behind Ms. Brown - television, film, Broadway and music superstar, Vanessa Williams.

“We’re very excited to welcome Vanessa to the M&M’S family,” says Debra Sandler, chief consumer officer, Mars Chocolate North America. “We’re confident Vanessa’s personality and unforgettable voice make her the perfect person to showcase Ms. Brown’s personality.”

BBDO New York created the 30-second ad, which features a song by LMFAO and a misunderstanding involving Ms. Brown’s brown shell and whether or not she is wearing clothes. The ad is currently the number five highest-rated ad on Facebook and USA Today’s Super Bowl Ad Meter.

Ms. Brown will be featured in a series of television, print and digital ads, in-store displays, promotions, as well as on Facebook and Twitter, where consumers can interact with Ms. Brown.
