The Product: Solid ChocoPods
The Hook: After introducing part chocolate bar, part bonbon ChocoPods, Chuao Chocolatier has created solid ChocoPods. But they aren’t just solid; they’re also spicy. The ChocoPods come in Firecracker, Spicy Maya and Chinita Nibs flavors. Each flavor features dark chocolate with different spicy ingredients. For example, the Firecracker contains chipotle chile, salt and popping candy; the Spicy Maya features pasilla chile and cayenne pepper; and the Chinita Nibs include nutmeg and caramelized cacao nibs. The treats only have 60 calories or less, equivalent to just one Weight Watchers point. The solid ChocoPods will be available in Fall 2008.
Ingredients: Firecracker: Premium Dark Chocolate (60% cacao, sugar, cacao butter, soy lecithin as an emulsifier, natural vanilla), Popping Candy (sugar, corn glucose, lactose, carbon dioxide), chipotle, chile pasilla, salt.
