THE COMPANY: Smile Chocolatiers, Malibu, Calif.
THE PRODUCT:Choclatea gourmet chocolate bars
THE HOOK: After mastering the art of making chocolate at the California School of Culinary Arts, Cordon Bleu Chef Joanie Freeman came up with the idea to combine two full-bodied flavors: chocolate and tea. Introduced earlier this year, Choclatea bars blend high quality Belgian chocolate with finely ground organic teas to create a treat high in anti-oxidants and flavor. The individually packaged bars feature a bright white background with watercolor images on the wrapper. The bars are available in 12 flavors with eight varieties of 100% organic tea, ranging from Pistachio Green Tea to Herbal Chai Tea, and four types of chocolate (Very Dark-72% cacao; Dark-64% cacao; Milk-37% cacao; and White-37% cocoa butter).
INGREDIENTS:White chocolate Pistachio Green Tea: White chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, soy lecithin (an emulsifier), vanilla), organic green tea with natural pure pistachio. May contain wheat, peanuts and tree nuts.
S.R.P.: $4-$6 for a 3-oz. bar.
