Last month, a museum honoring the life and accomplishments of Milton S. Hershey opened in downtown Hershey. The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue, is the first landmark building to be built on Chocolate Avenue in the last 75 years. The $23.5 million museum was paid for by individual and corporate donors, including the Hershey entities and support from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Inside, the museum offers three audio listening stations, advanced mini-theaters and 11 interactive touch screens to enhance visitors’ experience. Additionally, visitors can get hands-on experience in the Chocolate Lab, which includes classes about grinding cocoa beans by hand, tempering, moulding and dipping. By spring 2009, the museum will feature a two-story painting of Milton Hershey.
