Charles Dodson started out working as part of Sunmark’s New Product Confectionery Development group in 1979. Over the next two decades, he moved throughout Rowntree and Nestle, ending as v.p. of marketing at Nestle’s Willy Wonka Candy Factory Division. His groups have created many new confectionery brands including Nerds, Laffy Taffy Rope, ShockTARTS, Wonka Bar, and Nerds Rope. In 2005, he joined140-year-old family-owned A. M. Todd Ingredients|Flavors as director of consumer insights and marketing.
A. M. Todd supplies the confectionery and gum industries mint oils, certified organic flavors, isolates, extracts and distillates, as well as flavor enhancing special effect ingredients. Dodson’s current efforts are directed at the enhancing and differentiating of clients’ brands for the benefit of their consumer’s sensory experience, by providing innovative flavor solutions through the application of technology, creativity and value added services. Dodson received a BS degree in package engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University.
