European confectioners Katjes Fassin and Lamy Lutti form alliance

German-based sugar confectionery manufacturer and distributor Katjes Fassin has taken a minority share in French-Belgian sugar confectionery company Lamy Lutti to form an international strategic alliance. By joining forces, both companies expect to strengthen their positions commercially and in operations. They also hope to accelerate their growth because of Katjes Fassin’s positioning in Germanic countries and Lamy Lutti’s positioning in France and Belgium.

In early 2008, Lamy Lutti was acquired by investment companies Nimbus and Varova. Lami Lutti’s product portfolio consists of jellies, hard boiled candies, chewing gum and chocolate. With plants in Bondues, France and Bois d’Haine, Belgium, the company sells products under the Lutti brand in France, Belgium and Portugal. Katjes Fassin manufactures products under the Katjes, Ahoj-Brause, Gletscher Eis, Sallos and Hustelinchen brand names.
