After expanding Peanut Corporation of America’s recall once again, the company faces a new challenge: bankruptcy. According to PCA, the company has filed for bankruptcy and ceased all of its corporate operations.

Its subsidiary, Plainview Peanut Co. (PPC), has suspended operations at its Plainview, Texas processing facility until the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) finish their investigation of the plant’s procedures and records of food safety.
