Production of The Hershey Co.’s new factory in Monterrey, Mexico is on schedule, according to Hershey spokesman Kirk Saville. The Monterrey plant has a 2 1/2 year phased startup set to begin this year. Hershey plans to eliminate at least one third of its production lines in the U.S. and Canada and move some to the Monterrey plant. Barry Callebaut has made an agreement with Hershey to supply the company with liquid chocolate from a plant it will build in Monterrey by the summertime.
