Minneapolis-based B.T. McElrath Chocolatier added two new chocolates to its line- up of spring and summer chocolates: Caramelized Raspberry Ganache and Pistachio Praline Eggs.  The Caramelized Raspberry Ganache-laced dark chocolates are covered in 60% cacao dark chocolate, laced and sprinkled with tangy, dried red raspberries and have a hint of hazelnut.  Pistachio Praline Eggs are egg-shaped chocolates with creamy white chocolate pistachio praline centers with a hint of cherry liqueur.  The centers are covered in 60% cacao dark chocolate and the tops of the chocolates feature a white chocolate stripe.  The chocolates will be available in four or five-piece packages for $10.75.


Fairfield, Calif.-based The Jelly Belly Co. has introduced another new chocolate jelly bean flavor: Dark Chocolate. This new jelly bean is made with real dark chocolate and cocoa, along with the Jelly Belly secret recipe. Later this summer, Jelly Belly, together with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Cold Stone Creamery will introduce new flavors inspired by Cold Stone’s Signature Creation ice cream flavors. The new flavors will be inspired by Cold Stone Signature Creation ice cream flavors. Some of the flavors currently being developed include Strawberry Blonde, Mint Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Devotion, Apple Pie al la Cold Stone and Birthday Cake Remix. These flavors will be shipped to stores nationwide in May.


Providence, R.I.-based Verve, Inc. introduces Glee Gum, its natural chewing gum, in bubblegum and spearmint flavors. Glee Gum uses chiclé, which is a sticky tree sap found in the rainforests of Central America. By using chiclé, gum can be safe to the environment and all natural. As a result, the gum contains no preservatives, artificial colors or artificial flavors.
