Mars-Wrigley deal gives Wrigley Jr. millions if he resigns

According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing by Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., if William Wrigley Jr. resigns one year after the Mars deal closes, he will receive $19.7 million. Wrigley Jr. has one month after the year anniversary to accept the deal. Wrigley Jr. also stands to make $1.36 billion in Wrigley stock because of the merger. He owns about 16.9 million shares.
