After 13 years at the top of packaging machinery manufacturer Loesch Verpackungstechnik GmbH, Heinz-Peter Hammacher has turned over management of the company to his replacement, Andreas Graf.

Graf, who has a packaging machinery background, assumed responsibility of the business on April 1. He will focus on packaging innovations and integrated system solutions that will be developed in close cooperation with small, medium and large manufacturers in the confectionary, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Hammacher joined the company in 1983, initially as director of design. In early 1997, he assumed overall responsibility as managing director and transformed the manufacturer of specially designed machines for the confectionary industry from a small business with 95 employees into an international market leader of considerable size within the space of a few years.

In this time, the product range was enlarged, a leading technological position was attained, and the company buildings were significantly expanded. LoeschPack now employs over 250 people. Heinz-Peter Hammacher has joined the advisory board of Loesch Verpackungstechnik GmbH. He will continue to support the company’s key customers and assist on strategic issues.

Graf, who has many years of experience in developing innovative and ambitious packaging machines and systems as well as expertise in systems engineering, looks to further expand the company’s positive business development with new growth elements in the coming years.

Olaf Piepenbrock, managing partner of the Piepenbrock Group to which LoeschPack belongs, emphasises that the company’s success will be maintained with the smooth, “soft” handover of the business management to a member of the younger generation.
