Harry Tabel, a long-time employee of Northbrook, Ill.-based Bell Flavors & Fragrances, died June 11, 2009. Following his service in the U.S. Army, Tabel engaged his passion for sales in the flavor and fragrance industry, a career choice that stretched for more than 50 years. He was on the board of the Candy Production Club of Chicago and a member of the American Association of Candy Technologists.

Tabel’s legacy in servicing the confectionery industry goes back with some family-owned companies three generations. Tabel leaves behind his wife, Sylvia, four children, four step-children, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

“Harry’s legacy will be defined as a man who built life-long relationships based on friendship and loyalty,” says Jim Heinz, president of Bell Flavors and Fragrances. “His genuine smile and friendship will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to meet him."
